Kangana Ranaut, Bollywood actor and BJP's MP-elect from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, alleged that CISF official Kulwinder Kaur slapped her at Chandigarh Airport while she was boarding a flight to Delhi. According to Ranaut, the incident happened after the security check when Kaur, posted at the frisking area, argued with her and slapped her.

The alleged altercation follows Kangana's controversial remarks about women in Punjab during the farmers' protest. Sources suggest this could be the provocation behind the incident.

Kulwinder Kaur has been suspended with immediate effect, and an FIR has been filed against her, CISF officials confirmed. A probe panel has been set up to investigate Ranaut's claim.

In a video message posted on X, Kangana said that the constable expressed support for the farmers' protest. Ranaut questioned how the rising extremism in Punjab could be controlled.

"I am safe and perfectly fine. The slapping incident happened during the security check. After completing the security check, the woman security officer hit me and started abusing me. When I asked why she did it, she said she supports the farmers," Ranaut stated.

Another video from the airport shows Kulwinder Kaur saying, "My mother was also among the protesters when she [Kangana] made these remarks." Kaur was detained and taken to the CISF Commandant Office for questioning.

Upon arriving in Delhi, Kangana met CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials to explain the incident.

The incident sparked a political row, with various leaders demanding stringent action. Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, Kangana's election rival, called the incident "unfortunate" and condemned it.

Kangana Ranaut defeated Vikramaditya Singh, the incumbent state public works minister, by a margin of 74,755 votes in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency. She became the fourth woman ever to be elected to Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh and the first woman not from an erstwhile royal family.

Kulwinder Kaur, a CISF constable, allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport on Thursday. The incident reportedly stemmed from remarks Ranaut made during the 2020 farmers' protests.

In a viral video, Kaur referenced Ranaut's statement that women participating in the protests were paid ₹100 to sit at Delhi borders. "My mother was there," Kaur said, adding, "Kangana said the women were sitting in the farmers' protests for ₹100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she made that remark."

Kaur, who has now been suspended and faces a police case, reacted to what she described as Ranaut's "disrespecting farmers" comments. The CISF has ordered a court of inquiry into the incident.

Reports indicate that Kaur comes from a farming family and joined the CISF in 2009. She has been part of the aviation security group at Chandigarh Airport since 2021, with no prior disciplinary issues. Her husband also works at the same airport.

Following the incident, Ranaut expressed concern about rising "terrorism and extremism" in Punjab. She confirmed that the incident occurred during a security check at Chandigarh Airport, stating, "As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff, came from the side, hit me on my face, and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports the farmers' protest."

During the 2020 farmers' protests, Ranaut had posted about an elderly woman at one of the protests, suggesting she was "available for ₹100." The actor later deleted the tweet after it drew public outrage.

Rekha Sharma, chief of the National Commission for Women, called for strict action against Kaur, stating that it is a serious matter when those responsible for airport security breach it.
