Lady Gaga started the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony with a Barbie-pink plumed performance. She sang in French, raising curiosity about her language skills.


The 13-time Grammy winner made her debut at the Olympics Opening Ceremony, which began on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET and will re-air on NBC and Peacock at 7:30 p.m. ET. Led by artistic director Thomas Jolly, this ceremony is the first to be held on a river, the Seine, rather than in a traditional stadium.

Surrounded by pink feathers, Lady Gaga sang Zizi Jeanmaire’s “Mon Truc En Plumes” on stairs along the Seine River. This performance paid tribute to Jeanmaire’s appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.


Initially, French media reported that Lady Gaga would perform with Céline Dion later in the ceremony. Instead, Dion performed a solo rendition of “Hymne à l’amour,” despite her ongoing health struggles.
