"Wheel of Fortune" Teacher Wins Car in Record Time with Stunning Bonus Puzzle Solve

Published on: April 16, 2025

Last night’s episode of Wheel of Fortune delivered one of the most jaw-dropping moments in recent memory. Julie Allen, a third-grade teacher from Spokane, Washington, stunned the audience by solving the Bonus Round puzzle in less than a second—earning herself a brand-new Ford Bronco in the process!

A Game of Highs and Lows

The April 15 episode featured a competitive lineup:

  • Julie Allen (Spokane, WA)
  • Thomas Young (Detroit, MI)
  • Nikki Lopez (Melbourne, FL)

Thomas Young came out strong, solving the first two toss-ups and scoring $2,000. However, his luck faltered when he hit the dreaded Bankrupt wedge. Still, he bounced back later, solving a puzzle for an additional $8,600.

Julie Allen showcased her puzzle-solving skills with a clever win in the “Before and After” category:
“Chilli Dog Whisperer” – worth $4,700.

She later secured a luxury African safari by solving:
“Lions, Leopards, and Hippos,” bringing her total to $17,890 and taking the lead.

A Dominant Victory

Julie kept the momentum going, winning two out of three Triple Toss-Up puzzles and clinching the Final Puzzle:
“I Appreciate You.”

She ended the main game with a powerful lead of $23,590.

  • Thomas Young finished with $10,600
  • Nikki Lopez took home the $1,000 consolation prize

Then came the moment that had everyone talking...

The Lightning-Fast Bonus Round Solve

Julie selected the category “What Are You Doing?” for the Bonus Round. After being given the standard R, S, T, L, N, E, she chose the letters G, D, H, and I, revealing the puzzle as:

_EING _ _ ITE _ITT_

Before host Ryan Seacrest could even start the timer, she confidently blurted out:

“BEING QUITE WITTY.”

And she was right. Instantly.

This lightning-fast solution earned her a Ford Bronco valued at $43,760, bringing her total winnings to an incredible $67,350.

Julie’s Emotional Moment

After the show, Julie spoke with correspondent Maggie Sajak, crediting her win to years of teaching:

“Working with letter patterns every day definitely helped,” she said.

Julie also shared her excitement about showing the episode to her 1-year-old son, Ollie, when he's older—saying this victory wasn’t just for her, but for her family.

Fan Reactions

Social media quickly lit up with praise and amazement:

  • “CAR WINNER?! LET’S GO!!! Good job, Julie!”
  • “I wouldn’t have gotten that in a million years.”
  • “Being a teacher paid off—literally!”

Julie’s win reminded everyone why we love this classic game show—any moment can turn into history.

Another Wheel of Fortune Moment to Remember

Just last month, a contestant lost $40,000 after a controversial Olive Garden flub. But Julie Allen’s moment was pure brilliance—quick thinking, confidence, and just a little bit of luck.

Be sure to catch Wheel of Fortune weeknights—you never know when the next unforgettable moment will strike!
