Nintendo Direct Announced Super Mario Bros Anniversary

Nintendo Direct Announced for September 12, 2025 – What to Expect?

Nintendo has officially confirmed a brand-new Nintendo Direct for Friday, September 12, 2025. The showcase will begin at 6 AM PST / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST and is expected to run for a full hour. This timing makes it even more special as it falls just one day before the 40th Anniversary of the legendary Super Mario Bros. series.

Super Mario 40th Anniversary Surprises?

Back in 2020, Nintendo celebrated Mario’s 35th anniversary with Super Mario 3D World: Bowser’s Fury, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, and a Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch. Fans are now speculating that we may see an announcement for a new 3D Mario platformer, possible Mario Kart World DLC, or even a teaser for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel, set to release in April 2026.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Release Date Incoming?

One of the most anticipated reveals is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Fans have been waiting for years, and many believe Nintendo will finally drop its official release date during this Direct. Could this be the moment Samus returns for her next big adventure?

Other Possible Announcements

  • Pokémon Legends Z/A (launching October 16, 2025)
  • Kirby: Air Riders (arriving November 20, 2025)
  • Professor Layton and The New World of Steam
  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
  • FromSoftware’s Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods

While some of these games already have dedicated showcases, Nintendo may still highlight new features or trailers to keep the hype alive.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 era approaching, this Nintendo Direct could be one of the most important presentations in recent years. Whether it’s Mario, Metroid, Pokémon, or Kirby, fans have plenty to be excited about.
